Back at the beginning of January 2022, Graeme Cessford of Team YearOne told me about an opportunity he had for me and a few others. His friend was managing Valtteri Bottas, a Formula 1 driver. Over drinks at a pub, the manager (Harris) told Graeme that Bottas was planning to have a few special helmets designed over the year-long season, including one for Miami. Graeme told me I could send my designs in. After hearing this news, I immediately jumped into concept mode. The ground rules were… well, there weren’t any, except that it had to relate to Miami. So began many intense and exciting days dreaming up everything and anything.

After some long hours, I finished my design. But seeing my work in 2D didn’t satisfy me, so I bought a 3D model helmet that Bottas uses and fit my design on top. (not my best attempt at 3D modelling. I still love it!) Sadly my concept did not get used in the end.
